The next general election is scheduled to occur in 2020. Elkhart County voters have a limited time to register, or vote via absentee ballot. The following deadlines for voters are as follows:
Voters must be registered to vote or have their voter registration updated (due to a change of address, or name), prior to the 2020 General Election. The deadline for voter registration for this election is October 5, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. Any voter registration forms returned after this date will NOT be eligible in the 2020 General Election.

In order to obtain an absentee ballot, an application must be submitted to the clerk's office. Click here to learn how to submit an application. Applications to vote absentee by mail must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2020.
Absentee voting in person for the 2020 General Election will begin October 6, 2020. Absentee voting in person for the General Election will end November 2, 2020 at EXACTLY 12:00 PM Eastern Time. This time is by state mandate and is strictly enforced.
